Time to Regroup, Rethink and Recommit to Righting This Ship of State…
I wanted to extricate myself from the arrogant, craven, small-minded, power-crazed (and I don’t mean that in a bad way) incompetence that is the hallmark of today’s political overlords and lordettes. But, no! They’ve got their political hooks in us, and we’re going to have to work smarter to move beyond this shameful national chapter. Converting cowardice to courage. I’m ready!
It’s easy and fanciful to conjure INDIVIDUAL heroics, but we’re going to need EFFECTIVE ORGANIZATIONS if we’re going to have a chance of leveraging significant corrective actions and policies. My experience tells me that we’ll need to actively encourage those organizations “where the people are gathered” to martial their people power and smarts to convert sympathetic attitudes into constructive action. These groups would include major employers, schools, governmental entities, faith-based organizations, major non-profits, etc.

We consider our personal and organizational civic involvement to see how we might do better. We pledge to raise our community game and model for others in the process. We use our social media networks and other organizational opportunities to leverage our influence. Let’s commit to working smarter, not harder. Let’s honor our Friend in the Mirror and our children/grandchildren through our efforts…Emphasize civility, generosity and kindness.
