You’ll discover Cibolo Creek Ranch in the middle of nowhere/somewhere about 30 mins. south of Marfa, Tx….between Marfa and Presidio. Down a slightly rugged dirt road just off Hwy. 67…about ten minutes before you top a hill and see the impressive oasis surprise that welcomes you to your adventure.
I’m from West Texas…Ft. Stockton, to be exact. I’d heard of this place, but never visited until a few years back, when friends insisted that I make the effort. I immediately felt in love with the place, and have returned 10-12 times. A unique destination with an impressive diversity of historical preservation/reclamation, luxury accommodations, gourmet meals, rugged or gentle outdoor adventures, and mondo star-gazing to complement your evening wind-down. Plus a library and media room for those who just want to chill.
CCR is owned by and developed by Houston-based investor J. B. Poindexter. His on-site museum collections document the history of the ranch and Poindexter’s development efforts.

If you’d like to take a look before committing, plan to drive out to CCR when you’re next in Marfa. They’ll usually be glad to fix you a light lunch and give you an intro tour.
