Growing up, of which I’m still attempting the mastery, always starred September as an entry point to Fall and relaxing temperatures. The air featured more cooling breaks, football was in play, sweaters emerged, and it was a much more pleasant segue from Texas heat. My favorite time of year. And while “global warming” has raised the temperature range, we can usually anticipate cooler comfort in our 4th calendar quarter.
I’m NOT a snow and ice person, but I love the gentling of Fall with changing leaves, milder temps and the smells of burning firewood as homeowners flex their winter instincts. The following images capture several of my seasonal memories. They’ll remind you of many of your own. ENJOY!

My son and hero Clayton climbing up this treacherous glacier to save all in his path from many dangers. We might have accidentally stopped for chili…
